Basic Science and Humanities Department in a nutshell...

The Department of Basic Science and Humanities started from the inception of the college in 2009. Knowledge in basic science forms the base of Engineering. Department of Basic Science and Humanities aims to fulfill this function most efficiently. This Department is devoted to foster the fundamental principles and understanding of science to enhance the students’ basic knowledge of Engineering. Its objective is to provide value-based education to the budding scientists and engineers. The Department comprises different subjects of study namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and English. The students of our college are highly benefited by the knowledge and experience of many doctorates of the department. Well-experienced and highly qualified faculty members of the department have made consistent and strenuous efforts to improve the students learning, research and development processes. The department has state-of-the-art English language laboratory with Globarena Language Software, Physics Lab and Chemistry Lab and advanced department library facilities. It also encourages students to take up challenging projects and internships at the National and International level in order to fine-tune their technical skills. The Dept. provides opportunities for them to join various student chapters such as ISTE, IEEE, Music Club, Drama Club, Photography Club etc. Besides academics, the Department is actively involved in the development of students’ personality, communication and soft skills to boost them in the modern and globally competitive environment. In addition to these, other extra-curricular activities like regular Study Tours, Quiz Competitions, Annual Paper Presentation Competition, Robotics Workshop etc. It has opened avenues to promote Entrepreneurship among budding engineers and imbibe in them the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility. The department also helps the students to acquire English Communication skill to increase their proficiency in English Language which will enable them to cope up with the cut throat competition in the job market. I am ecstatic in welcoming you to the Basic Science & Humanities Department, that deals with an inevitable role in building engineers, which is the fundamental of all Engineering subjects. The department of BS&H has rich curriculum and allied activities to provide a comprehensive education for B.tech graduates. It prepares them to be technically well off, to be critical thinkers, productive citizens, and leaders in a wide range of careers; government as well as an array of managerial options in the private sector. During their study, students complete rigorous programs of course wall, participate in a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs within and with other top engineering colleges. Our department has well qualified, talented and dedicated faculty members. The faculty members of the BSH Dept. always endeavored to provide the best in terms of knowledge and skill. The subjects taught by the teachers of this department are of prime importance for holistic development of students. It becomes a privilege for me to be the Head of this illustrious Department with a galaxy of highly motivated and dedicated teachers, who are all prepared to go for the extra mile.
